I am interested in starting a discussion on Winging it. Please feel free to comment or reply.

has anyone had a potential client contact them within days or hours of a hearing and accept to represent that client? especially without most or all documentation (discovery) that you would normally require to represent a client?

While some may believe that winging it means you are unprepared, I define it as focusing on what is important and providing the best legal argument given the resources available. Not all clients have the financial means to allow for discovery, depositions or experts. Some clients also wait until hours or days prior to a hearing to reach out for representation. So the art of winging it depends on focusing on the big picture and issues for a case and determining whether I can responsibly represent a client's position when I may not have all of the facts or all documents I would prefer to have prior to walking into a court room.
