Below is a link to a You Tube video I took today on my Flip Video Camera of Governor O'Malley's speech at the dedication of the Maryland September 11 Memorial Dedication followed by the reading of names of Marylanders who died that tragic day of September 11, 2001.

The Maryland 911 Memorial is dedicated today, on the tenth anniversary of that tragic event. Among the 68 Marylanders who lost their lives that day, five are listed as living in Baltimore County. Included in that list are Robert John Fangman, Linda Rosenbaum and Cortez Ghee. A biography of each of can be seen at
However, I would like to highlight two young professionals who…Continue

I don’t know about you, but I am expecting a lot of calls this week from clients who have sustained property damage in Hurricane Irene (or maybe as a result of the earthquake last week, that seemed so mild after Mother Nature's behavior over the weekend.) I thought I would pass this along to give you some information that will make these calls easier for you.
The Maryland Insurance Commission has recently posted some useful Press Releases that should be helpful. I would recommend…Continue

This is a continuation of my last blog entry about the unconquerable Jacke McCurdy and her Oral History recorded by the Baltimore County Bar Association Historical Committee on July 29, 2011.
Jacke was appointed to the House of Delegates in 1964 and she pledged to not raise taxes. As soon as she got to Annapolis, the leadership of the House asked her to support some new taxes. She refused to violate her promise and the leadership threaten to steal some of the clients from her law…Continue

Are you ever worried that a recent Maryland Appellate decision slipped past you before you went to Court? Have you ever wondered why that attorney friend with whom you have lunch always knows the latest developments in the Court system before you do? If the mail doesn't bring your Daily Record, do you panic because you may miss a pending Court of Appeals ruling that may affect the biggest case in your office? If you are like me and your practice areas include Personal Injury, Criminal and…Continue

I will always remember Mike Radcliffe as a Baltimore County Bar member whom I greatly admired. With that bushy mustache, broad smile and those broader shoulders, he looked more like a rugby player than a lawyer. Driving around Towson in his sharp convertible BMW, he always gave the appearance of strength and the confidence to overcome all obstacles. So, when I heard about two years ago that Michael had ALS, I was shocked- it seemed as improbable as Lou Gehrig having the…Continue
I wrote last week about the spectacular, comical musicals that Judge Leonard Jacobson wrote and directed in the 1980's. BCBA Executive Director Doris Barnes was kind enough to let me borrow the DVD of the 1986 version entitled "All That Jazz" and I have to tell you that it is a scream. If you have been a member of the BCBA for more than ten years, you will recognize most of the cast and will laugh through the songs and skits. We have to make duplicates of the DVD for people who wanted their…Continue

Judge Leonard Jacobson served on the Baltimore County Circuit Court from 1983 through 1994. He then served as a Special Master to the Baltimore County Settlement Court from 1994 through 1999.
