I knew that I took a wrong turn when I decided to become an attorney. Instead, I should have started a record label! The infamous Limewire recently settled a lawsuit with the Recording Industry Association of America for $105 million in damages.  See the ABA Article here.  The RIAA had originally made a demand for $75 trillion in damages against Limewire, presumably at the maximum statutory damage amount for each song that was illegally shared by Limewire users (and there was a substantial amount of illegal file sharing on Limewire which is why it became so popular back in the bad old days after Napster).  But, you'd think that someone would have thought twice about making a demand against a bankrupt company for more money that the United States owes in short and long term debt for the national debt, Medicare, social security, combined.
